She has worked behind-the-scenes with dozens of CEOs and public officials for promotional satellite media tours and press junkets, as well as real-time crisis response. During her tenure as Deputy Director of Communications at the Virginia Department of Health, Kelly helped lead the responses to several high-profile emergencies and events, from disease outbreaks and natural disasters to bioterrorism scares and tragedies like the mass shooting at Virginia Tech.
A returned Peace Corps volunteer, Kelly also taught a master class on American media and journalism at Moscow State University of International Relations and Moscow Institute of Business Administration.
